Woodson Roddy was a respected fine-arts educator and later a skilled decoy carver from Clinton, Missouri. After earning his BA (1954–1957) and an MFA from the University of Missouri (1967–1971), he taught fine art at Clinton High School from 1962 until 1990. During this time, he also pursued passions such as sign painting, gunsmithing, building black powder rifles, and even crafting an aerobatic biplane.
Following his retirement from teaching, Roddy channeled his artistic talents into a new outlet: making functional wooden duck decoys.
