Ruddy duck by North Carolina decoy carver, Romeo "Romie" Waterfield (1918-2010) of Knott Island, North Carolina.  Decoy has glass eyes, original rigging, and measures approx 10" L x 5" T. Very nice piece, some insignificant wear from use as seen in photos.
Romie was born in False Cape State Park. He was a long time resident of Knott Island, North Carolina, retiring from the Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge. He came from a family of decoy carvers and mentored many others starting out.
