Beautiful pair of miniature woodduck decoys by Bill Joiner of Chestertown, MD.  Signed and dated 1984. Clean, dry all original paint.

Bill (Billy) Joiner is associated with the traditional decoy-carving heritage of Maryland's Upper Chesapeake Bay and is identified as the nephew of Charles “Speed” Joiner Jr., a recognized Maryland decoy carver.

Bill's connection to his uncle is central to the available historical information about his carving. Charlie Joiner was known for his waterfowl decoys and helped pass traditional carving and painting techniques to the next generation of makers.
